📋 Description

• Design team composition and pod structure as engineering scales • Own security outcomes across the team • Take accountability for infrastructure and data decisions across the stack • Represent engineering to department heads • Run cross-department intake and prioritization • Propose headcount plans and role sequencing for CEO approval • Own incident escalation from first alert to resolution • Weigh in on product prioritization alongside product leads • Report directly to the CEO • Represent engineering to the leadership team

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience stated in the posting • 6+ years in engineering leadership roles • Experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Engineering at a product company • Hands-on software engineering experience earlier in career • Backend-heavy or fullstack-with-backend foundation in platforms, infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, databases, and cloud • Track record of building and scaling an engineering organization at a startup or scaleup, including hiring, forming pods, and installing process • Comfortable representing engineering to a CEO and non-engineering department heads • Experience owning cross-department intake and prioritization • Bonus: background in marketplace, SaaS, creator, adtech, or payments • Bonus: exposure to trust & safety or fraud work • Bonus: security compliance experience, including SOC 2 or penetration testing
