📋 Description

• Provide direct employment law support and legal support to the U.S.-based Deputy General Counsel in litigation and other corporate matters • Draft, review, and manage day-to-day sales, procurement, and other commercial agreements • Ensure compliance with North American and European federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and industry standards • Support and coordinate with the Compliance team, including investigative matters • Advise U.S., European, and Canadian Human Resources departments and management teams on labor and employment laws • Advise on employee onboarding, restrictive covenants, disciplinary actions, separations, benefits concerns, employment contracts, severance agreements, investigations, discrimination, and harassment • Develop, implement, and maintain compliant employment policies, procedures, and practices • Conduct training sessions and provide educational resources on employment law • Manage external counsel and oversee disputes and litigation matters with the Deputy General Counsel • Manage commercial agreements, ongoing and potential litigation, and disputes with Legal Group members • Review sales and marketing materials for legal compliance and substantiation • Serve as a legal advisor to Compliance leadership and local compliance officers • Conduct compliance and employee relations investigations and advise on remediation • Advise on legal and compliance issues involving consulting arrangements with Health Care Professionals

🎯 Requirements

• Admission to the bar in the state where the candidate is located and/or eligible for in-house counsel registration • Seven (7) or more years of experience as an attorney, preferably in healthcare, life sciences, or a related industry, with a focus on litigation, employment, and health law • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state laws and regulations • Strong knowledge of the anti-kickback statute, False Claims Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and global equivalents • Ability to research labor and employment laws, regulations, and collective bargaining requirements outside the U.S., such as Canada, the EU, and Latin American countries • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and group presentation skills • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice and counsel to global business partners within varied functions and global business units • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior • Experience conducting investigations • Law degree from an ABA accredited law school • U.S.-based role requires admission to an applicable state bar
