📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain production integrations between a referral management platform and major EMR systems • Own the full integration lifecycle from API authentication through ongoing support • Map and reconcile patient, appointment, scheduling slot, insurance, and referring-provider data across systems • Engineer around missing fields, undocumented behavior, and partial endpoint support in EMR APIs • Onboard new EMR integrations as customer contracts are signed, including scoping and timeline setting • Finish and harden an in-flight integration for a pilot customer scaling to significant daily referral volume • Support the AI-assisted referral ingestion pipeline and address exceptions requiring engineering judgment • Document integration patterns and decisions for broader team support and extension • Harden the pilot integration within the first 60–90 days • Onboard at least one new EMR into production within six months • Own the integration roadmap and serve as a core technical engineering pillar long-term

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated hands-on experience building EMR/EHR integrations in a production or live environment • Direct integration experience with at least one of NextGen, athenahealth, ModMed, Greenway, or Cerner/Oracle Health • Working knowledge of patient records, scheduling and appointment-slot logic, insurance/payer data, and referring-provider/billing relationships • Strong software engineering fundamentals • Proficiency in TypeScript, or a strong Node.js/JavaScript background with ability to work primarily in a TypeScript codebase • Self-directed and able to ramp quickly in a remote, small-team environment with minimal hand-holding • Clear written communication and ability to document integration behavior and decisions for technical and non-technical stakeholders • Must be US-based • Preferred: multi-EMR integration experience across a customer base • Preferred: ambulatory/outpatient practice background • Preferred: HL7 and/or FHIR knowledge • Preferred: AI-assisted document ingestion experience involving faxes or referral pipelines • Preferred: EMR vendor or healthcare integration firm background
