📋 Description

• Structure, negotiate, and close enterprise sales and partnership agreements • Support vendor and services agreements, data licenses, marketing arrangements, and other commercial deals • Partner with sales and business development teams to accelerate deal execution • Apply customer empathy to craft durable agreements and facilitate faster negotiations • Design and implement scalable legal processes, including standardized deal terms and templates • Provide practical guidance on privacy, intellectual property, data security, and AI-specific legal issues • Navigate cross-border commercial and regulatory issues across the UK/EU and APAC • Structure data transfer mechanisms such as SCCs, adequacy decisions, and BCRs for voice data processing • Monitor the evolving legal landscape for AI technologies and translate developments into actionable guidance • Support the full breadth of legal issues associated with a fast-growing startup • Help establish and scale the legal function • Report directly to the Associate General Counsel (Commercial) • Lead legal support for the company’s UK/EU and APAC business

🎯 Requirements

• JD, LLM, or equivalent law degree/qualification from an accredited institution • 5–12 years of experience in legal practice, or more, in-house, at a firm, or both • Demonstrated strength in international commercial transactions, particularly across UK/EU and APAC markets • Experience with enterprise deals, partnerships, and other strategic relationships • Depth of experience in at least some of IP, privacy, data security, and data licensing, with willingness to learn the rest • Practical experience with relevant data protection regimes and structuring cross-border transfer mechanisms • Exceptional writing that is precise, plain, and compelling • Experience helping a high-growth startup scale its sales motion would be beneficial • Hands-on experience with commercial and legal issues in the AI space would be beneficial • Prior experience supporting a U.S.-headquartered company’s commercial expansion into the UK/EU and/or APAC would be beneficial • Comfort adopting new AI models and modes quickly and integrating AI into workflows
