📋 Description

• Join DSV’s venture creation programme as a Founder-in-Residence and co-found a new company with DSV and a major transatlantic utilities partner • Refine and improve the technical thesis for fragmenting or modularising transmission tower and foundation construction • Develop approaches enabling off-site manufacture, rapid deployment, and reduced dependence on heavy plant • Assess commercial neglect, including IP strategy, differentiation, and competition • Define the market value proposition, value capture, and techno-economics • Develop regulatory strategy and positioning • Prepare fundraising strategy and pitches • Optimise company strategy for the fastest and most de-risked path to Series A • Prepare for Investment Committee by fulfilling investment criteria and recruiting advisory and co-founding team members • Fundraise in parallel for additional expansion funds • Assuming Investment Committee success, receive pre-seed investment and spin out the company in Q4 2027 • Continue receiving DSV and partner support post-spinout

🎯 Requirements

• Civil, mechanical, or structural engineering at core; architecture with strong structural skills also considered • Genuine hands-on depth in at least one of: modular structural systems; advanced connection technologies; lightweight/composite structural materials; foundation engineering and geotechnics; automated/robotic construction • Adjacent specialisms such as bridge/tower fabrication or precision manufacturing considered if clearly transferable • Full project lifecycle experience in grid, energy, or large infrastructure construction strongly preferred • Hands-on regulatory navigation in the UK, EU, or USA strongly preferred • Personally shipped a prototype or field trial, or delivered a type-test/standards-compliant data package strongly preferred • BD/partnerships experience in energy infrastructure/construction nice to have • Founder/C-suite experience in deep-tech, construction-tech, or energy infrastructure nice to have • Motivation to solve unsolved energy infrastructure and grid modernisation challenges • Impact-driven, proactive, first-principles approach • Entrepreneurial spirit demonstrated through impactful innovation • Ability to work in ambiguous, unstructured, fast-paced, demanding, and pressurised environments • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

🏖️ Benefits

• Initial £250k (~$340k / €290k) investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data • You and your co-founder(s) together will own the majority equity stake in the company • Minimum guaranteed income of £4,166 per month (fixed), paid to each Founder as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and pre-seed investment is secured • Continuous support post spin-out, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment and team-building • Optimised, purpose-built, proprietary tools, resources and processes • Extensive network including leaders of energy infrastructure, transmission operators, EPC contractors, technical and commercial domain experts, and portfolio company capabilities • Other Founders currently at DSV working collaboratively and supporting one another • Tailored guidance, resources and feedback covering technology and commercial venture creation • Significant stake in the business and continued support post-spinout
