📋 Description

• Investigate how customer work actually happens through interviews, data extracts, handoffs, exceptions and workarounds • Build fact bases showing where cost, cash, service, cycle time or control is being lost • Form and pressure-test hypotheses, including kill criteria • Structure unfamiliar problems and frame selection equations for decision-making • Turn analysis into decision-ready slides, one-pagers and memos • Produce accurate materials with clear baselines, assumptions and evidence • Deliver same-day or next-day outputs on defined asks • Support multiple live enterprise accounts as analytical surge capacity • Switch between category, supply chain, finance operations, inventory and commercial problem types • Maintain a clear trail of actions, open questions and evidence • Surface blockers and ambiguity early • Help define baselines, targets and measurement windows before implementation • Quantify outcomes in terms of revenue, margin, cost, working capital, cycle time and control • Investigate both successful and missed results and create evidence packs • Own working-level relationships with operators and mid-level process owners • Prepare working sessions, capture decisions and follow up on commitments • Escalate issues requiring senior input • Collaborate with Transformation Strategists and Forward Deployed Engineers while not owning commercial negotiations, board-level relationships or technical build

🎯 Requirements

• Currently an Associate, Senior Associate or Consultant (or equivalent) at McKinsey or BCG; Bain and other top strategy firms can fit if the craft is the same • Typically ~2–4 years of core, client-facing consulting experience • Track record of producing high-quality analyses and slides used by partners and clients to make decisions • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing rigor • Comfort operating as surge capacity across different problems rather than owning a single long study end to end • Structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving • Analytical speed and numeracy; comfort with messy data and incomplete information • Strong written and slide craft • Ability to generate insights and identify where value is lost • Ability to adapt to new accounts and problem types within days • Delivery bias and follow-through • Customer judgment when working with operators and managers • Ability to use AI to accelerate research, analysis and drafting while maintaining responsibility for output quality • Ability to work with imperfect instructions and surface bad news early • Helpful but not required: retail, CPG, supply chain, logistics, inventory or finance operations exposure; prior startup or early-stage experience • Must be living in the UK or relocating there before starting • Ability to travel to client sites from the UK
