📋 Description

• Lead a high-performing engineering team during the transformation from a tightly-coupled monolith to a modern, domain-driven, product-led organisation • Hire exceptional talent and develop engineers through 1:1s, coaching and career pathways • Drive sprint planning, backlog prioritisation and execution with Product • Champion design, testing, code review and CI/CD practices • Shape architectural decisions and make pragmatic technical trade-offs • Partner with architects and SRE to build scalable, secure and observable systems • Collaborate with Product, UX, Data and SRE on priorities, acceptance criteria and releases • Support on-call readiness and lead blameless post-incident reviews • Strengthen runbooks, monitoring, alerting and SLIs/SLOs • Remove friction, automate manual processes and foster continuous improvement and innovation

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years managing engineers with a track record of hiring, coaching and developing teams • Experience shipping production microservices or cloud‑native applications using public cloud (AWS preferred) • Practical understanding of automated pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and container orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent) • Experience driving test strategy, automated testing and code quality initiatives • Familiarity with monitoring, logging and incident management practices • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across product, design, SRE and senior leadership • Strong coding experience in at least one modern language (e.g. Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, C#) • Familiarity with system design and architecture patterns
