📋 Description

• Work in partnership with senior Program leadership to develop and execute a multi-year plan for curricular product development that supports Facing Historys district growth and engagement strategy. • Lead a team to adapt existing digital- and print-based curriculum for middle and high school teachers and students, including standards-aligned lessons, units, curriculum maps, pacing guides, and Google slides for district-wide implementation. • In collaboration with the content, product development and growth and engagement teams, surface opportunities for and co-lead innovation design sprints and product development cycles to test and validate new product ideas for school and district engagements. • Develop district, school, and teacher facing guidance documents detailing Facing Historys approach to instructional topics, that address contractual needs and policy requirements. • As part of the district partnership team, meet with internal and external stakeholders to plan, recommend, and eventually develop and adapt curriculum for district partnership contracts. • As a core member of the educator content and product development team, become an expert in Facing Historys unique organizational voice, perspective, and pedagogical model and apply them to the design and adaptation of curricular resources. • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in best practices in the teaching, pedagogy, and assessment of social studies (ELA experience is a plus), and ensure those practices are reflected as appropriate in Facing History content. • Stay current and incorporate learning on latest trends, technology, and methods of learning through research, networking, and ongoing professional learning. • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross functional teams to develop marketing and sales material to support growth and implementation of curricular products and the district model. • Demonstrate curiosity and eagerness for continuous learning about teaching and learning in the humanities. • Perform other related duties as required by position.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years experience as a successful editor, project/product manager, and supervisor • Minimum of 5 years of experience and/or comfort with processes that support the full product lifecycle -- from feedback collection to ideation, design, launch, and iteration -- including but not limited to design thinking and prototyping. • Demonstrated up-to-date knowledge and expertise in best practices in the teaching, pedagogy, and assessment of social studies, and a commitment to ensuring that those practices are reflected as appropriate in Facing History content • A student-centered approach to content development including expertise in SEL, culturally responsive teaching, and in methods of differentiating instruction in middle and high school history, social studies, and/or ELA classrooms. • Established and effective communication skills as a leader, team member, and thought partner • A commitment to collaborative leadership • A willingness to learn and use program management systems such as ClickUp • An ability to give and receive clear, actionable, and constructive feedback • An awareness and sensitivity to the social and political context of the places in which we work • Classroom teaching experience and/or district curriculum development is strongly preferred.
