📋 Description

• Identify, prioritise and drive forward changes to energy regulation and policy in Great Britain • Pinpoint barriers to storage projects and opportunities for commercial optimisation across storage value streams • Cover grid connections, network charges, wholesale energy markets, balancing mechanism, capacity market and ancillary services • Contribute to active workstreams such as Reformed National Pricing and identify new workstreams such as industry code modifications • Educate policymakers and regulators on how to unlock the benefits of storage for the energy system • Drive new regulation supporting long-duration energy storage projects • Work with Ofgem to develop a workable long-duration energy storage licence • Lead implementation of licence obligations across development, construction, corporate development, finance and operations teams • Optimise regulatory arrangements for future long-duration energy storage and comparable schemes • Build alliances with trade bodies, storage developers and aligned industry participants • Share regulatory analysis with colleagues and identify impacts requiring strategic, process or regulatory action • Report to the Global Regulation and Policy Lead and work autonomously to deliver high-value change for Field

🎯 Requirements

• Understanding of the main parts of GB Energy Legislation and licence obligations of generators, network owners and NESO • Experience engaging in code modification processes in GB, ideally as a workgroup participant or modification proposer • Working knowledge of CUSC, DCUSA, BSC, Grid Code and Capacity Market rules • Established network of regulatory professionals across the industry, ideally including Ofgem, DESNZ and NESO • Ability to communicate complex concepts and present cogent arguments to persuade and influence policy makers
