📋 Description

• Serve as fractional Client CFO for a concentrated portfolio of 2–3 clients navigating restructuring, turnaround, or special situations • Own cash management, 13-week cash flow forecasting, and liquidity runway • Partner with founders, CEOs, boards, and investors • Manage lender, creditor, landlord, vendor, and investor relationships, including forbearance and workout discussions • Build cash flow, scenario, downside, KPI, and early-warning models and dashboards • Lead cost restructuring, working capital optimization, and margin triage • Ensure reporting integrity with internal accounting • Advise on out-of-court restructuring, debt renegotiation, bridge financing, and capital triage • Own creditor packs and lender presentations and act as deal-time CFO for recapitalizations, wind-downs, or distressed M&A • Support board materials and investor communications • Create decision frameworks for runway, burn, and existential tradeoffs • Templatize cash flow models, creditor waterfalls, and scenario trackers • Use Claude and LLMs to improve speed while maintaining rigor • Document special situations playbooks and improve delivery under time pressure • Oversee month-end closing, accounting activities, financial management reports, annual audits, and annual budgets • Prepare and communicate cash flow projections and cash position to clients

🎯 Requirements

• Strong finance leadership experience with direct restructuring, turnaround, or distressed-situation experience • Previous multi-client or portfolio CFO experience • Deep understanding of DTC, retail, omnichannel, and wholesale consumer business models • Hands-on experience building and using 13-week cash flow models and managing liquidity constraints • Experience negotiating with lenders, creditors, or landlords and supporting workout or forbearance processes • Strong FP&A and modeling skills, including multi-year three-statement modeling and downside scenario planning • Experience with QBO and NetSuite • Ability to synthesize complex and incomplete data and communicate difficult truths confidently • Experience working directly with executive teams and boards under pressure • Ability to manage 2–3 concentrated client relationships simultaneously • Comfort working in a lean, high-performance, distributed team • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship • Located in the United States
