📋 Description

• Respond to customers’ field repair and service requests • Diagnose equipment problems and provide comprehensive details to customers and Finning for quote preparation • Attend customer sites and understand customer needs • Resolve mechanical and electrical issues using current dealer software and repair techniques • Provide estimated arrival times based on job instructions and customer/site details • Register arrival with site management and follow customer site procedures • Diagnose reported equipment problems with operators/supervisors using specialised equipment • Identify required parts, requisition parts, and determine delivery times • Agree dates and times for necessary service revisits • Undertake repair and service work according to the agreed work plan • Remove and dispatch components for specialist attention and reinstall original or replacement components • Bring Caterpillar machinery up to required standards

🎯 Requirements

• Outstanding customer focus • In-depth knowledge of plant equipment • Ability to attend site and resolve mechanical or electrical issues safely, timely, and cost-effectively • Apprentice trained / formally trained Engineer • NVQ Level 3 preferred in Land Based Engineering / Plant Fitting • Significant field service engineer experience, or development opportunity for a qualified apprentice • Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential • Heavy Earth Moving equipment operating knowledge • LDV driving licence • Experience of a variety of construction and static machines essential • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Strong planning and organisational skills • Ability to work in high-pressured situations and to tight deadlines • Effective problem-solving and analytical skills • Motivated and dynamic self-starter
