📋 Description

• Provide consistent, relationship-based support in the community. • Support access to activities, interests and new experiences. • Encourage independence, confidence and choice at an appropriate pace. • Use calm, flexible communication reflecting an understanding of autism and PDA. • Follow agreed support plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures. • Complete clear and accurate records after each shift. • Work collaboratively with the family and Freedom Care team. • During home-based shifts, act as a protective factor for younger children and help maintain everyone’s safety and wellbeing. • Support a young adult with autism and a Pathological Demand Avoidance profile, including travel on public transport and participation in planned activities.

🎯 Requirements

• Ongoing, regular availability for Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts, and possibly Monday and Tuesday. • Able to work up to 11 hours per day. • Calm, patient, compassionate and dependable. • Able to build trust while respecting individual choice and autonomy. • Confident supporting activities in the community. • Clear communicator able to work consistently as part of a wider team. • Experience supporting autistic people and/or individuals with a PDA profile is desirable, but not essential. • Full UK driving licence. • Access to own reliable vehicle with business-use insurance. • Willing to complete an Enhanced DBS check and all required safer-recruitment checks. • Able to provide satisfactory references. • Evidence of right to work in the UK.
