📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, enhance, and maintain enterprise web applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies • Develop scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures • Implement and support RESTful APIs and SOAP-based services • Participate in system design reviews, code reviews, and technical solution assessments • Apply DevSecOps principles throughout the development lifecycle • Design, implement, and maintain Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CD pipelines • Automate build, testing, deployment, and release management processes • Integrate automated quality assurance, security validation, SAST, DAST, and dependency/vulnerability scanning • Promote secure coding practices and enterprise security compliance • Design and optimize database interactions using relational databases and SQL • Manage schema versioning and deployment with Flyway • Develop migration strategies, baseline configurations, and rollback procedures • Collaborate with database administrators and architects on performance and data integrity • Troubleshoot issues across development, testing, and production environments • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions • Monitor application performance and support incident response and service availability • Support enterprise integration initiatives, including COTS product integrations • Collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, security, and operations teams • Participate in Agile ceremonies • Maintain technical designs, deployment documentation, and operational procedures • Evaluate and implement AI-enabled capabilities such as intelligent automation, summarization/classification, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted decision support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) • 15+ years of hands-on software development experience, lead level • Senior-level, hands-on experience developing Java-based web applications • Strong expertise with Java 8+ • Strong expertise with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework ecosystem • Experience with REST API development and integration • Experience with SOAP services and integrations • Experience with relational databases and SQL • Experience with Flyway database migration/version control • Experience with Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CD pipelines • Demonstrated experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including automated build, test, deployment, and security processes • Experience supporting and maintaining production applications in large-scale enterprise environments • Strong understanding of application security principles and secure coding practices • Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and conducting root cause analysis • Ability to work independently on complex technical initiatives with minimal supervision • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and pass government background screening • U.S. residency requirement: selected candidate must meet the stated U.S. residency/travel criteria for the last five years • Less than 10% travel required • Preferred: USPS, Federal Government, Postal Services, or other highly regulated enterprise experience • Preferred: AI services, machine learning, generative AI, COTS integrations, modernization, regulated environments, Docker, Kubernetes, enterprise architecture, monitoring, and observability
