• Help the team understand real legal workflows, including intake, matter organization, document review, escalation, and preservation of decisions and rationale • Provide practical guidance to product managers and engineers on commercial agreements, matter workflows, risk assessment, negotiation strategy, and legal operations • Evaluate AI product concepts and workflows for realistic legal practice, missing steps, edge cases, and assumptions • Explain legal judgment behind accepting, rejecting, redlining, seeking context, or escalating contract provisions • Review AI-generated summaries, issue identification, clause classifications, redline recommendations, obligation extraction, precedent retrieval, and other outputs • Develop evaluation rubrics, benchmarks, and representative examples for training and testing AI systems • Generate ground-truth data by reviewing agreements, labeling legally relevant information, documenting evidence, and writing reasoning • Advise on modeling institutional legal knowledge, including playbooks, prior positions, counterparty history, precedent, approvals, and negotiation rationale • Provide specific feedback on product accuracy, completeness, confidence, and usefulness to experienced lawyers • Occasionally support customer discovery through working sessions or customer conversations
• Must be based in the United States • 5+ years of legal experience preferred; candidates with somewhat fewer years but especially relevant experience may be considered • Meaningful hands-on experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial or transactional agreements • Experience as an in-house lawyer, senior associate, legal consultant, or transactional counsel supporting complex organizations or sophisticated commercial clients • Strong experience with NDAs, services agreements, procurement or vendor agreements, technology agreements, licensing agreements, transaction documents, or other negotiated contracts • Ability to independently review agreements, identify material issues, evaluate practical risk, and explain reasoning behind recommendations • Experience using playbooks, precedent, prior agreements, negotiation history, or organizational risk tolerance when advising on contract positions • Strong written communication skills for structured explanations and written evaluations • Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to engineers, product managers, designers, and other non-lawyers • Comfort working with incomplete information and distinguishing conclusions, needed context, escalation points, and matters unsuitable for AI determination • Practical perspective on useful versus unhelpful legal technology • Qualification or admission as a lawyer in a U.S. jurisdiction • Signed NDA required before work begins • Currently legally authorized to work in the US
