📋 Description

• Planning: Collaborating with the Product Manager to understand and translate the requirements into technical solutions. Helping the Product Manager identify elegant solutions that reduce the development time. Assisting with technical aspects of backlog refinement and estimation. Ensuring that testing strategies and test plans are defined. Collaborating with the Product Manager and Scrum team to understand requirements and define acceptance criteria. • Execution: Overseeing test deliverables following standards as set by Engineering Enablement. Identifying and reporting bugs and working with the development team to resolve them. Overseeing the execution of tasks to guarantee that they are completed on time and that the productivity of their team members is maximized. Assigning sprint tickets to people. Escalating delays to the Product Manager and their Director of Engineering. • Reporting: Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the team metrics. Assisting in the preparation of test execution reporting. Escalating quality concerns in a timely manner. • Technical Quality: Guiding the team in technical decision-making and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices. Conducting code reviews and ensuring code quality. Proactively taking action wherever analysis of data shows areas of concern. Conducting regular reviews of the E2E R&D process and suggesting improvements. Proactively reducing escaped bugs. Reviewing production issues and analyzing trends. Providing thought leadership for driving the number of issues down. • Leadership: Collaborating with other teams or departments to address technical dependencies and integration issues. Collaborating with Engineering Enablement on a frequent basis, providing input on initiatives that Engineering Enablement is working on, and helping with the roll-out of improvements. Mentoring and coaching team members. Advocating for technical excellence, high degree of quality, performance and user experience. Engineering Managers are directly responsible for these aspects when changes are in execution. Overseeing in-sprint implementation of automated tests. Bringing up proposals to the Product Manager to improve these aspects in existing functionality or processes. • People Management: Identifying gaps Conducting 1:1s Managing staffing needs Professional development Performance management Creating business cases for new hires PTO/leave management Participating in the interviewing and hiring process Team goal setting and tracking

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience • 8+ years of professional experience in enterprise-level software design, development, and testing and at least 3 years of hands-on experience with automated testing tools • Proficient in C# or Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML/CSS, relational databases, and ORM frameworks • Experience with a commonly used back-end framework (e.g., Rails, Spring, .NET) and a commonly used front-end framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue.js) • Passionate about automated testing, including unit, API, and UI testing • Well-versed in object-oriented design and development concepts (e.g,. SOLID, Onion/Hexagonal architecture, anemic/rich domain model, design patterns, and data structures) • Basic understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes • Basic understanding of functional, regression, exploratory, UI, and usability testing • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written • Excellent interpersonal skills • Experience in a variety of software development approaches and methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall • Strong facilitation and coaching skills • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes • Desire to remain technically capable and an expert in current technologies • Experience modeling and architecting complicated business domains and associated methodologies/paradigms: i.e., Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing, CQRS (this is a plus) • Expertise in distributed architectural patterns: event-driven microservices, distributed transactions (sagas), append-only logs, change data capture, idempotent consumers, and eventual consistency (this is a plus) • Expertise in one or more of the following technologies: Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, NUnit, SpecFlow, Playwright, or Jenkins (a plus)
