📋 Description

• Manage, mentor, and hire software or systems engineers • Set clear performance expectations and growth plans • Ensure technology, data handling, and software products comply with HIPAA and safety standards • Partner with clinicians, product managers, and security teams to translate clinical and operational needs into technical solutions • Build a healthy remote team culture centered on written communication and ownership • Oversee complex technology initiatives, resource allocation, project milestones, and budgets • Guide architectural decisions, support cloud infrastructure and SaaS integrations, and maintain system reliability • Enforce standards for encrypting PHI at rest and in transit • Ensure accessible, intuitive, and responsive UI components for clinical staff • Maintain and optimize the engineering stack • Write production code in Python, TypeScript, and SQL • Contribute to dbt models and data pipelines • Review pull requests and uphold standards for code quality, testing, and documentation • Lead technical design for new services, integrations, and data flows • Participate in incident response, debugging, and on-call escalation • Manage automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines • Report progress, risks, and metrics to the CTO and business leadership • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in software or data engineering • 2+ years managing engineers • Strong Python and SQL skills • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript • Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, ideally GCP • Experience implementing engineering processes including agile delivery, code review, and CI/CD • Experience automating manual workflows and building internal tools • Experience with regulated or sensitive data and understanding of security fundamentals • Clear written communication and ability to lead a remote team • Sound judgment regarding build versus buy, technical debt, and trade-offs • Healthcare experience, including HIPAA and PHI handling (nice to have) • Healthcare data experience with claims, member, provider, or clinical/EHR data and HL7 or FHIR (nice to have) • Experience with SOC 2 or HITRUST controls (nice to have) • Authorization to work anywhere in the US without sponsorship
