📋 Description

• Develop sprinkler system designs through coordination with client representatives and other service contractors through to a final scheme • Monitor the design programme against the construction programme and specification requirements • Issue completion documents and certification • Obtain information from site, architects, consultants, builders, and other trades to prepare fully designed working drawings • Attend site meetings independently when design matters are on the agenda • Prepare complete working drawings in accordance with appropriate design codes • Establish pipe sizes using hydraulic calculations • List materials from design drawings for procurement, variation estimating, and schedules of rates • Forward drawings and material quantities to suppliers and subcontractors for procurement • Order materials and monitor and maintain equipment levels • Perform other activities as instructed by the Project Manager or Design Manager • Comply with company policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Comprehensive experience in a design engineering role within the sprinkler industry (essential) • Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with LPC BS EN 12845 rules (essential) • LPCB Intermediate qualification and LPCB Full Hydraulic Calculation qualification (highly desirable) • Experience and proficiency using AutoCAD (essential) • Revit 3D experience (highly desirable) • Experience and proficiency in full hydraulic calculation software, ideally Canute (desirable) • Knowledge of Factory Mutual Standards (essential) • Knowledge of NFPA standards (highly desirable) • HND or degree qualification in a construction/engineering design-related subject (highly desirable) • Experience managing, developing, mentoring, and leading a team • Professional communication with clients and colleagues at all levels • Organisational skills, time management, and ability to prioritise effectively • Active problem-solving ability and initiative • Ability to work successfully under minimal supervision • Full driving licence • Flexibility for travel, working hours, and occasional nights away from home • May be required to undertake a DBS check
