📋 Description

• Design and deliver technical components as part of larger data solutions • Work closely with Solution Architects and Customer Architects to integrate components into quality data solutions • Implement functional and non-functional designs • Agree functional and non-functional designs with customer architects, including estimated effort, technical implications and complexity • Set technical standards and work with engineers to ensure standards are upheld • Manage and estimate timelines underpinning technical component delivery • Contribute to or own technical solution design as part of the pre-sales process • Contribute significantly to the data analysis community and wider data and analytics capability • Manage, coach and develop a small number of staff • Manage employee performance and assist with career development • Provide direction and leadership for the team while solving challenging problems

🎯 Requirements

• Experience of technical ownership for a component, sub-system or product, including architecture, estimation, product planning and story creation • Proficient in client interaction, including communication of technical decisions to non-technical audiences • Experience applying standards for design, development and operational readiness • Experience designing, building and productionising modern, distributed data-intensive applications • Experience in Java, Scala or Python and comfort with multiple programming paradigms, including functional and object-oriented programming • Experience deploying contemporary data stores such as object stores, document stores, key-value stores, search, RDBMS and graph databases • Software development experience with data-processing platforms from vendors such as AWS, Azure, GCP and Databricks • Comfortable with data integration techniques such as messaging, queuing, change data capture or data virtualisation • Comfortable with data warehouse methods and techniques • Actively shares thoughts and views on data practices • AWS, Azure or GCP Certified in Data Services • Expertise in continuous improvement and sharing input on data best practice • Participation in development and/or technology communities
