📋 Description

• Manage, mentor, and coach a team of ~8 engineers, supporting growth through feedback, reviews, and career development • Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, set clear goals, and translate strategy into execution • Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and delivery processes that balance roadmap work, technical debt, and incident response • Drive architectural decisions and ensure the team builds scalable, reliable systems • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where engineers thrive and do their best work • Own team OKRs/KPIs, communicate progress and risks to leadership, and ensure alignment with company priorities • Support incident response and postmortems for the team’s systems • Set technical and organizational direction for a critical customer-facing platform (Core Portal)

🎯 Requirements

• At least 4–5 years as a hands-on software engineer (minimum 4 years) • 3+ years managing engineering teams • Ability to mentor engineers and build strong, inclusive teams • Experience leading teams through growth and delivery in fast-paced environments • Comfortable balancing technical trade-offs with product and business priorities • Experience with on-call rotations, incident management, and building reliable systems • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences • Prior hands-on engineering experience and the technical depth to guide decision-making • Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS • Familiarity with Go and AWS Nitro Enclaves (beneficial) • Authorization to work lawfully in the United States (employer asks about work authorization and visa sponsorship)
