• Deliver the organisation's payroll function in partnership with the People Services team, using Xero Payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time • Prepare and submit PAYE and pension contribution returns within statutory deadlines • Respond to employee payroll queries and resolve issues efficiently • Lead IR35 assessments and Off-Payroll Working returns in compliance with HMRC legislation and internal governance • Maintain knowledge of financial legislation, payroll regulations, and accounting standards • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements • Use Xero to maintain accurate financial records and produce management information • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies • Support month-end and year-end close processes • Assist with management accounts, financial reports, and forecasts • Liaise with internal and external auditors for annual audits and compliance reviews • Maintain financial records and audit/governance documentation • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting • Undertake other reasonable finance-related duties as required • Report to the Head of Finance
• Proven experience using finance and payroll software, particularly Xero • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, including manipulating, analysing, and presenting financial data • Experience delivering payroll services within a small to medium-sized organisation • Sound knowledge of bookkeeping principles and financial processes • Ability to support and advise non-finance colleagues • Experience managing financial data and producing accurate reports from multiple systems and data sources • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy with financial data • Ability to extract, analyse, and present data from multiple sources • Experience preparing financial analysis and management information for planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making • Proactive and continuous improvement mindset • Ability to enhance financial processes and controls • Excellent organisational and time management skills • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Confidence building effective working relationships across the organisation • Ability to explain financial information to non-financial audiences • Professional qualification such as AAT, CIPP, CIMA or similar • Role is UK-based and can only be performed within the UK • Livestock Information Ltd. cannot sponsor work visas at this time
