• Perform component-level assembly, bench testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic Line Replaceable Units and processing systems • Perform duties in an electronics laboratory environment using bench-type electronic testing equipment • Test and troubleshoot environmental monitoring sensors, data collection systems, and processing systems to the component level • Follow procedures, redline drawings, and schematics • Complete assigned tasks within time constraints and deadlines • Perform other assigned duties • Support the National Data Buoy Center in providing quality meteorological and oceanographic observations for maritime safety
• Training or experience in maintenance, repair, test and modification of electrical and electronics systems • Familiarity with maintenance, calibration, microprocessor-based data acquisition systems, test sets, sensors, laboratory bench equipment, and precision calibration electro-mechanical instruments • AS/AAS in Electronics, Instrumentation, Engineering Technology, or related field • Must be able to pass a government background check • Experience conducting tests and troubleshooting to the component level of environmental monitoring sensors, data collection and processing systems • Experience using oscilloscopes, DVMs, amp meters, pulse/function generators, resistance thermometers, and waveform generators • Experience with analog, digital, and RF circuitry • Ability to follow procedures, drawings, and schematics • Ability to work independently with periodic supervision
