📋 Description

• Provide legal counsel on complex data in-licenses, customer sales, and automotive OEM deals • Work closely with product and engineering colleagues on product-counseling matters • Draft and negotiate technically complex sales agreements based on customers’ use cases and technical implementations • Develop practical and creative solutions to complete complex deals and advance the business • Own deals while balancing risk mitigation and business objectives • Improve operational processes and update legal forms to scale the legal organization • Collaborate with the legal team and cross-functional colleagues • Handle a broad range of legal issues as a senior individual contributor without direct reports

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of practicing attorney experience • 2+ years at a top-tier law firm in any area • 5+ years in-house at a technology company in sales-side commercial transactions • At least one of: computer engineering, computer science or similar technical degree; 2–4 years of software patent litigation or patent prosecution at a top-tier firm; extensive experience with APIs and SDKs; experience working on complex sales deals • Excellent clear and concise writing and verbal communication skills • Practical, customer-centric orientation and negotiation style • JD degree from a top-tier law school • Active membership in at least one US state bar • Willingness to work remotely from anywhere in the US • Preference for candidates in the Pacific time zone • Technical savvy and ability to learn products, business, and technical implementations • Ability to collaborate, take feedback, and handle a variety of legal issues • Cover note required if the resume does not clearly demonstrate the first two stated experience criteria
