📋 Description

• Set organizational and technical direction: shape the roadmap and vision for your team in collaboration with infrastructure, data, and product leadership • Advocate for the right long-term system investments: lead cross-cutting initiatives that enable scale, improve margins, and raise the bar for reliability and testing standards • Drive complex cross-team execution: bring clarity to sequencing, align priorities across stakeholders, and ensure timely, high-quality delivery while balancing near-term customer value with long-term platform foundations • Manage and grow leaders: lead senior engineers and emerging managers; provide career development, performance feedback, and coaching • Recruit and retain top talent: scale the team by hiring exceptional engineers and managers and foster a high-trust, high-performance culture • Deliver measurable progress on multi-quarter initiatives (e.g., next-generation compute) to improve platform scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of engineering management experience, including managing managers or senior/staff ICs and scaling teams through periods of growth and complexity • 8+ years of technical experience building and operating distributed systems or platforms at scale; deep understanding of platform architecture and reliability • Proven leadership skills: leading teams through ambiguity, making long-term technical bets, and aligning execution with business goals • Strong organizational and communication skills: navigate complex stakeholder needs, drive clarity across teams, and communicate tradeoffs to executives • Commitment to inclusivity: build diverse, inclusive teams and lead with empathy, candor, and authenticity
