📋 Description

• Lead excellence in financial processes and functions across the Foundation’s activities • Review and enhance financial administration for legal compliance and industry best practices • Identify and implement innovative improvements with the team • Oversee development and implementation of operational financial procedures • Ensure financial information is available to the Board, Chief Executive, management team, and staff • Support staff with budgets and financial activities • Contribute to new strategies, including investment strategy • Apply accounting requirements and prepare, develop, and analyse management accounting information • Perform bank reconciliations, resolve invoice discrepancies, manage cash flow, and maintain bank accounts • Support tender and proposal completions • Ensure accuracy of accounting and control information • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and quarterly Board reports • Support year-end statutory accounts, transactions, reports, and returns • Oversee payroll instructions with accountant partners • Ensure HMRC and Companies House filings and returns are submitted • Coordinate internal audit and support audit requirements • Ensure compliance with HMRC and correct VAT application • Oversee financial records and accounts • Identify financial risks and record them in the Foundation risk register with the Operations Director

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrable experience of success in a similar financial management role • Strong analytical skills • Qualified with a recognised Accounting Body (CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent) or QBE with 5+ years experience of management accounting • Knowledge and experience of not for profit financial management is essential • Charity SORP is desirable • Experience of effective development and implementation of finance systems and reporting tools, ideally including Xero • Experience of international finance and banking systems is desirable • Can-do attitude with a hands on approach and the ability to drive and manage change • Excellent communication skills with an ability and desire to build relationships and work across teams • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail • Experience of managing and building the skills of team members new to financial processes • Ability to think strategically and translate financial information into practical reality • Desirable, experience working internationally or in multi jurisdiction contexts
