📋 Description

• Leading the roadmap for and working on our proprietary game backend using Java • Executing and implementing features for the product as well as to empower the team • Improving system stability by following and encouraging best practices like test-driven development • Leading and collaborating on system design and technical strategy • Managing a team of backend engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality, maintainable code • Providing regular feedback, coaching, and mentorship to help your team grow professionally • Conducting and participating in peer code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and execute features • Supporting hiring efforts and helping to grow the backend team • Maintaining and sharing knowledge within the Engineering team about industry trends, tools, and technologies—especially related to backend systems

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of development experience, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role • The ability to lead and support a team through complex technical challenges • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to guide technical conversations and decisions • A high sense of quality and polish, and pride in the work you deliver • Experience leading backend development efforts in live production environments • Experience or understanding of Java 11/17, Spring Boot 2/3, Unix / Linux shell environments, Microservices, Docker / Kubernetes, AWS and/or Google Cloud, and game engines • Exposure to blockchain technologies and services
