📋 Description

• Design and engineer software with customer or user experience as the primary objective • Work with architects to help define major components of the business-wide target architecture and roadmap • Create customer outcomes through engineering and innovative solutions to existing and new challenges • Lead significant, complex and technically challenging assignments • Coordinate multiple feature teams and ensure their technical journeys support target realisation • Define, create and provide oversight and governance of engineering and design solutions • Focus on end-to-end automation, simplification, resilience, security, performance, scalability and reusability • Work within a platform or feature team to design and engineer complex software, scripts and tools for bank platforms, applications and services • Act as a point of contact for solution design considerations • Define and develop architecture models and roadmaps for application and software components • Drive common usability across products and domains • Influence domain- and enterprise-level strategies and architecture • Identify transformational opportunities for business and technology areas

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience in Apigee engineering and architecture • Deep expertise in designing, building and operating enterprise-scale API platforms • Strong background in Java microservices • Experience with CI/CD automation • Experience with JavaScript • Knowledge of modern networking principles • Proven track record of delivering secure, scalable and resilient solutions in complex environments • Significant experience shaping engineering strategy, driving adoption of best practices and influencing technology direction across multiple teams • Demonstrable expertise in solution architecture • Experience producing high-quality design artefacts • Ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Extensive software engineering experience, leading technical strategy and driving engineering excellence across large-scale platforms • Deep expertise in API design, management and governance • Significant experience of test-driven development, automation, continuous integration and quality engineering • Strong architectural and analytical skills • Ability to translate complex business challenges into scalable technical solutions • Experience with GitLab, Jira and Confluence • Knowledge of MCP within Apigee and emerging AI-assisted engineering tools such as AWS Kiro or Antigravity would be advantageous
