📋 Description

• Build scalable applications and end-to-end systems for government partners • Design, implement, and deliver secure, inclusive, accessible, fast, and reliable services • Modernize a legacy enterprise platform and improve public-facing processes and user experiences • Participate in strategy, planning, post-production testing, and production support • Design, review, and build software with fellow Nava engineers • Collaborate with government partners and contractors to architect, implement, and deploy new and improved systems • Work in an agile manner to ship features meeting user needs • Create tools and processes to automate development, testing, and production workflows • Write and review technical documentation and perform code reviews • Participate in an on-call rotation and investigate production issues • Support hiring through referrals, interviews, and interview debriefs as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and TypeScript • At least 12 years of full-stack engineering experience contributing to development initiatives • Meaningful experience working on web-based systems, both front-end and back-end • Experience working on large-scale applications and systems • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and architecture • Expertise developing well-crafted software • Strong client services experience • Experience with modern web development frameworks • Experience designing and implementing highly scalable, available, and performant application architectures and code • Experience as a software engineer • Experience with automated testing • Knowledge of code quality tools such as Linter • Experience with system design, including sustainable high-usage systems and front-end/back-end integration • Ability to work self-directed with minimal supervision • Ability to work with others on a team • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Adaptive, empathetic, collaborative, and positive mindset • Ability to think holistically about engineering issues • Aptitude for giving and receiving feedback and nurturing team health • Legal authorization to work in the United States • Ability to meet other requirements for applicable government contracts • Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future • May be subject to a government background check or security clearance • Must reside in one of the listed eligible states and work from the contiguous United States
