📋 Description

• Partner with government stakeholders and Nava engineering, design, and product teams to modernize data architectures and pipelines for critical public programs • Design and implement scalable data models and databases • Improve pipeline performance and security • Build systems supporting storage, processing, and analysis of large-scale data • Support data needs across multiple teams, systems, and products • Gather business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications • Develop data engineering applications and pipelines enabling data services, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and experimentation • Design, develop, test, automate, and deploy cloud-based data engineering solutions • Participate in software design and code reviews • Develop automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD for production systems

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience with professional software engineering practices • Experience with Agile Software Development, Test Driven Development, CI/CD, and Source Code Management • Experience building ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and store data • Prior experience with Python programming for data processing and server-side use cases • Experience with data cleaning, modeling, and schema design while protecting sensitive data • Proficiency building data integrations using API and file-based protocols • Proficiency with relational databases and advanced SQL queries, particularly PostgreSQL • Experience using data observability tools to maintain data infrastructure and data quality • Proficiency refining high-level goals into prioritized tasks and milestones based on human-centered design practices • Legal authorization to work in the United States • Ability to meet other requirements for applicable government contracts • Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future • May be subject to a government background check or security clearance • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake is desired
