📋 Description

• Own day-to-day accounting for four fiat entities in Xero, from set-up through steady state • Set up charts of accounts, bank mappings, close calendars, and statutory and tax filing calendars for newly licensed entities • Design and perform safeguarding and client-money reconciliations with Treasury • Prepare inputs for own-funds and capital-adequacy calculations • Complete EMI regulatory returns to national regulators and the FCA end to end • Perform month-end close, including bank reports, intercompany transactions, accruals, prepayments, loans, payroll entries and FX revaluation • Record and reconcile heavy intercompany flows with Treasury • Support transfer pricing documentation • Prepare EU and UK annual accounts, VAT and statistical reporting, Companies House and HMRC filings, and year-end inputs for the US and Canada • Check supplier invoices for local tax compliance before payment • Prepare consolidation inputs, audit schedules and responses to auditor queries • Produce monthly entity-level management accounts and analyse P&L and balance-sheet movements • Investigate unusual items before close sign-off • Build documented close procedures and controls for each new entity

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on accounting experience for a live EMI in the EU or UK • EMI regulatory returns owned end to end • Safeguarding or client-money reconciliations performed directly, not through an outsourced provider • Experience producing own-funds or capital-requirement inputs for an EMI • 5+ years of in-house accounting with independent general ledger ownership and month-end close • Strong IFRS; UK GAAP / FRS 102 accepted • Working understanding of US GAAP simplifications • Ability to analyse new transactions, decide accounting treatment and document the position • Multi-entity, multi-currency accounting experience • Intercompany reconciliation, FX revaluation and group consolidation experience • Strong balance-sheet ownership, including account reconciliations, ageing analysis, investigation of unreconciled items and balance substantiation • Experience reconciling high-volume payment data to bank accounts and the general ledger • Fintech or payments background • Comfortable setting up processes from scratch • Fluent English • Existing right to work and residence in the EU/EEA or the UK
