📋 Description

• Champion the deployment architecture driving platform maturity • Optimize day-to-day delivery across the on-premise estate • Act as the key engineering stakeholder shaping, configuring, and rolling out the Kubernetes platform • Utilize and contribute to Ansible-based deployment automation for product feature releases • Follow established TechOps peer-review processes • Monitor application-level health within the cluster • Collaborate with TechOps on incident response and drive post-mortems for engineering-led deployments • Maintain deployment documentation, runbooks, and developer self-service guides • Shape Kubernetes self-service workflows, guardrails, standards, and requirements for primitives such as Gateway API, RBAC, admission controllers, and resource policies • Standardize ingress, RBAC, namespacing strategy, and secrets management within namespaces • Partner with engineering teams to containerize and migrate workloads to Kubernetes • Establish CI/CD workflows for Kubernetes deployments using Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD, or similar • Implement application-level metrics, logging, and alerting within namespaces • Create deployment runbooks, manifest templates, and best-practice documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Strong, demonstrable experience with Ansible, including roles, inventories, vault, and idempotency • Comfortable with Docker and Docker Compose in production environments • Understanding of networking fundamentals • Strong scripting ability in Bash and Python • Experience with GitOps tooling such as ArgoCD or Flux • Experience with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, and Alertmanager or equivalent • Ability to think creatively within constraints and plan pragmatically • Methodical, security-conscious approach • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Familiarity with Helm chart authoring and management (nice-to-have) • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform (nice-to-have) • Experience with secrets management tooling including HashiCorp Vault, Sealed Secrets, or External Secrets Operator (nice-to-have) • Prior experience balancing greenfield work alongside BAU responsibilities (nice-to-have)
