📋 Description

• Provide tactical, strategic, and technical leadership for software development groups supporting the DVSA Test Delivery domain • Coordinate Architects, Developers, Business Systems Analysts, and Project Managers to ensure products and services meet DVSA requirements and expectations • Coordinate regularly with the test driver vendor, Cyber Security, Software Project Management, Software Quality Assurance, and DVSA Program Management • Represent the team’s work to internal stakeholder groups and client stakeholders • Serve as an escalation point for issues, technical decisions, and project prioritization • Represent team capacity and work with the client to schedule prioritized projects • Understand vendor resource capacity and formulate strategies to meet client needs • Coordinate project dependencies with other teams, including Cyber Security • Collaborate with Project Managers to drive work to successful completion • Provide leadership around agile development processes and emerging engineering best practices • Work with vendor leadership on process initiatives to improve team efficiency and effectiveness • Engage in prioritization of Cyber Security and client feature backlogs • Provide one-on-one coaching and direction for team members • Set goals and provide feedback for team member performance reviews • Recruit and retain high-performing staff with skills needed by the team • Understand and manage technologies leveraged in application suites • Collaborate with architects and directors on strategic direction and drive it to completion • Identify technical improvement areas and create plans to address them

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or other application field or equivalent experience • 8+ years in software development and demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams towards high performance • 5+ years in technical leadership with relevant experience on Java based applications • At least 3-5 years in a direct management role or other related background consistent with success in this role • Ability to work well through ambiguity and make tough decisions • Agility in leadership to take on challenges with growing business needs • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Success working with team members to motivate and coach for maximum results • Previous experience as a technical liaison between business and client
