📋 Description

• Own commercial contracting end to end, including MSAs, DPAs and customer red lines • Handle high-volume contract reviews at pace • Set and publish a legal SLA for sales • Own legal risk tolerance, playbooks, fallback positions and templates • Run legal intake and determine when external counsel is needed • Own data protection, including DPAs, subprocessor management, DPIAs, DSARs, records of processing and international transfers • Maintain compliance with UK and EU GDPR, US state privacy law, Quebec Law 25 and China's PIPL • Build audit readiness through accurate policies and corporate housekeeping • Prepare the company for diligence, including share and option documentation and historic contractual exposure • Partner with Product and Engineering on background screening, right-to-work, DBS and credit checks, and AI-assisted hiring features • Own regulatory compliance relating to UK and EU GDPR, FCRA, the EU AI Act and US state law • Draft and negotiate partnership, reseller and referral agreements • Own NDAs, supplier and vendor terms, and the contract lifecycle from template through renewal • Report to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate with Account Executives, Product and Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years as a qualified lawyer, or as a contracts manager, legal ops lead or commercial manager with real negotiation authority • Experience owning customer-side contracts end to end, including MSAs, order forms, DPAs, NDAs, red lines and liability caps • Hands-on UK and EU GDPR experience, including DPAs, DPIAs, DSARs, sub processors, records of processing and international transfers • Experience in a scaling company of roughly 30 to 250 people • Breadth across commercial contracting, data posture and exit readiness • Ability to assess risk, propose defensible solutions and escalate genuine trade-offs • Comfort using and advancing AI tools, particularly Claude • Clear, concise communication • Self-motivated and able to work independently
