Prevail Fund is an organization that mobilizes philanthropic capital and field implementation capacity to pursue ambitious, measurable global goals—beginning with improving foundational literacy and numeracy in low- and middle-income countries. Prevail makes targeted grants to field implementers, works directly on the ground to build their capacity to scale over 10+ years, and coordinates donor teams to leverage government and private-sector spending. Its founding board is composed of experienced social entrepreneurs and implementers, and its first program aims to raise and deploy $1B in philanthropy to improve instruction for at least 27. 5 million children across 11 countries in Africa and South Asia.

📋 Description

• Deputy will work directly with Andrew Youn, Prevail's Co-Founder, and sits on the Philanthropy team. • Prepare for donor meetings. Work with the philanthropy and program teams to research and prepare materials to clearly communicate our work, and to maximize the chance of a potential match in goals. • Be in the room with Andrew in high-stakes donor meetings. Deeply understand the donor perspective, identify what information we need to provide to meet that perspective. • Own follow-through. Work directly with the philanthropy and program teams to ensure we are accurately and clearly communicating our programs. • Produce and edit written deliverables. Develop a deep understanding of Prevail’s voice and priorities, and work with the philanthropy team to ensure all written materials reflect both accurately. This will include both direct writing/editing, and delegation to full-time writers. • Manage relationships (possible, over time). Build and maintain relationships with donors' advisors/ key staff/ principals. • Take on strategic internal projects - this could be analytical work, research, or operational improvements that sit outside the donor cycle but matter to how Prevail runs its programs.

🎯 Requirements

• Work experience. 6 to 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a top-tier consulting background or a comparable strategic role. You're interested in big-bet philanthropy and global development. • Senior judgment and follow-through. You understand and internalize the priorities of other stakeholders, and combine sharp judgment with consistently high quality delivery to speak to their priorities. • Organized and systematic. You are extremely organized and can hold multiple high-stakes streams of work. • Great communicator. You love writing clear, simple communications and shaping presentations that deliver complex messaging effectively to diverse audiences. You are structured and succinct. • Comfort representing senior leadership. You can sit in a room with sophisticated stakeholders, take in complex context, and reflect a leader's thinking back accurately. You read rooms well. • Comfort with numbers (nice-to-have). You're fluent with large financial spreadsheets and can turn quantitative analysis into clear donor-facing materials. Our donors expect this kind of rigor. • Humility. You bring humor, patience, and a humble approach to service. You are ready to grow by acting on frequent, intensive feedback from your colleagues.
