📋 Description

• Own Proper Voltage's proactive supplier quality function across mechanical, electrical, packaging, and cell suppliers • Design and run supplier qualification, PPAP, first article inspection, and qualification criteria • Build and run APQP programs for new product introductions • Establish and conduct supplier audits and track corrective actions to closure • Build and run supplier scorecards and lead supplier development projects • Lead high-severity or repeat supplier quality investigations and corrective actions • Own cell supplier quality, including quality issues, process changes, and lot-level release recommendations • Set standards and review cadence for incoming inspection, first article inspection, and line quality escalations • Partner with engineering, sourcing, and the contract manufacturer's quality organization • Manage and coach the Supplier Quality Engineer and build the supplier quality function • Provide input into supply base strategy and plan future headcount growth

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years in supplier quality, quality engineering, or a hybrid quality and manufacturing role with direct supplier development ownership • Industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or equivalent hands-on manufacturing background • Required time on factory floors • Direct experience building or scaling supplier quality programs from an early stage • Personally built and run PPAP, APQP, supplier audit programs, scorecards, and supplier development projects • Hands-on experience applying SPC, DMAIC, control plans, process capability studies, and root cause analysis to real supplier problems • Experience managing supplier quality relationships in a CM-based manufacturing model with directly sourced components • Direct people management experience and ability to coach an SQE and grow the function • Comfortable building tools, templates, systems, and cadence in an early-stage environment • Preferred: battery, energy storage, power electronics, or hardware-adjacent experience • Preferred: cell supplier quality and lithium-ion, sodium-ion, or other battery chemistry supplier engagement • Preferred: ASQ certifications such as CQE, CSSBB, or CMQ/OE, or equivalent formal quality credentials • Preferred: Asia supplier development experience with on-site engagement • Preferred: early-stage startup experience building quality functions from zero • Preferred: automotive, aerospace, or medical device background • Must be able to work without visa sponsorship
