📋 Description

• Design and build core components of Samsara's Cloud Governance Platform, including cloud IAM, security controls, compliance enforcement, and software supply-chain security capabilities • Contribute to the governance and security tooling roadmap across AWS and GCP • Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into automated, continuously enforced controls • Build and maintain software supply-chain security tooling, including SAST, DAST, and secure CI/CD pipeline patterns • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams on cross-functional risk and governance problems • Share technical knowledge through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day collaboration • Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, and risks in design documents and team discussions • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as the company scales globally

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience in software development • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience • Strong programming, coding, and design fundamentals in Golang, Python, or similar • Deep hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure, including AWS, GCP, or similar • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and mitigations • Experience designing and operating highly reliable, scalable distributed systems • Strong communication skills and ability to influence without direct authority • Experience building internal developer platforms or governance systems used across many teams preferred • Background in developer tools, infrastructure, or productivity engineering preferred • Experience with software supply-chain security practices and tooling preferred • Proficiency in Golang, Python, Terraform, or similar platform-focused technologies preferred • Strong judgment balancing developer experience, platform adoption, and security-control enforcement preferred
