• Lead efforts to grow Save the Children’s major donor presence in Texas and surrounding states • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors • Develop and execute regional fundraising strategy to meet revenue targets • Develop fundraising plans including donor meetings, exclusive cultivation events, and program visits • Partner with local staff, trustees, senior leadership, and regional champions to deepen donor engagement • Engage in the capital campaign to increase donor participation and giving levels • Prepare strategy, proposals, presentations, and briefing materials for donor meetings • Maintain donor records and track progress in the fundraising database • Identify and engage prospective five-, six-, and seven-figure donors • Build relationships with donor intermediaries, wealth advisors, philanthropic advisors, estate planners, family offices, and other stakeholders • Create cultivation and solicitation strategies for identified prospects • Represent Save the Children at local events and conferences • Develop relationships with organizational leaders, community members, longtime donors, and influential stakeholders • Collaborate across Marketing & Growth, Planned Giving, Philanthropy Operations, marketing and communications, finance, and international programs • Tailor concept notes, proposals, marketing collateral, presentation packages, and fundraising materials • Promote thought leadership events and opportunities for Save the Children experts • Act as a resource for team members and lead special projects
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • At least 7 years of relevant experience • Demonstrated experience cultivating donor portfolios and prospecting new donors to increase revenues • Knowledge of the Texas philanthropic community, including DAFs, wealth and philanthropic advisors, estate planners, and family offices • Successful track record managing portfolios generating five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts and planned gifts • Knowledge of major gift fundraising moves management • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels • Creative thinking capability to develop high-impact engagement strategies • Ability to build relationships with high-net-worth individuals and families, C-level executives, and advisors • Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and apply new perspectives • Proven success with special-event fundraising • Ability to work from a dedicated home office enabling private and confidential conversations • Willingness and ability to travel within the Region, nationally, and occasionally internationally • Detail orientation, strategic thinking, problem-solving, organization, and discipline in managing donor information and databases • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English • Understanding of global development and humanitarian issues • Existing relationships with major donors and institutional funders in the Region • Experience in special event fundraising, campaigns, and planned giving • Experience with donor management software (BBEC or Salesforce preferred)
