📋 Description

• Own services end to end, from design through to production • Architect, review, integrate and assure the quality of AI-generated code, tests and documentation • Build core components of Simple's healthcare platform • Ensure observability, reliability and performance of platform components • Codify reusable patterns and help define golden paths for engineering pods • Shape engineering culture through mentoring, pairing, reviewing work and sharing knowledge • Work as part of a lean, senior engineering squad • Take ownership of architecture, observability and reliability from first specification to production

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building production software in a modern language such as TypeScript and Node.js (preferred), Python or Java • Experience building cloud native systems, ideally on AWS, using Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, or serverless and containerised architectures • Strong skills in automated testing, CI/CD and modern delivery practices • Confidence using generative AI tools to accelerate development, or a clear willingness to adopt them • Deep understanding of software fundamentals, including architecture, clean code, performance, observability and maintainability • Strong ownership mindset and focus on outcomes • Excellent collaboration skills; comfortable pairing, sharing knowledge and communicating across pods • Experience in healthcare, digital services, patient journeys or regulated environments (desirable) • Full stack experience, including React or Next.js when required (desirable) • Experience building scalable platforms, reusable components or high leverage engineering systems (desirable) • Curiosity about AI native development (desirable) • Must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application • Visa sponsorship is unavailable
