📋 Description

• Identify the problems most worth solving with Product, Design, Data, and Operations • Define success through measurable value for pizzerias, customers, and the business • Guide architecture and engineering decisions across owned services • Balance speed, reliability, simplicity, and long-term system health • Lead and develop a high-agency engineering team • Give engineers context, decision boundaries, and meaningful ownership • Remove blockers and work across organizational boundaries • Raise execution standards and build lightweight mechanisms for focus and learning • Use customer feedback, product data, incidents, and operational metrics to evaluate decisions • Hire, retain, coach, and develop engineers • Address underperformance clearly and promptly • Build relationships with engineering, product, and business leaders • Influence through judgment and results rather than hierarchy • Report to an Engineering Director and collaborate with managers and technical leaders

🎯 Requirements

• Experience building and operating customer-facing software or platforms • Experience managing high-performing engineering teams • Strong technical judgment across backend services, APIs, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and production operations • Experience with Python, Go, Ruby, or comparable backend technologies • A record of improving both customer outcomes and engineering effectiveness • Ability to turn complex, ambiguous problems into clear direction • Founder-minded approach: resourceful, decisive, intellectually curious, and unwilling to wait for perfect conditions • Strong instincts for leverage—knowing when to move quickly and when deeper investment is necessary • Courage to challenge weak thinking, including your own • Clear, direct communication across technical and non-technical audiences • Low ego, high standards, and a strong sense of personal accountability
