📋 Description

• Contribute to the design and implementation of product features aligned with technical strategy, quality standards, and functional requirements • Develop clean, maintainable code with corresponding automated tests • Participate in release planning, provide reliable estimations, and deliver work meeting scope and quality expectations • Engage in code reviews and collaborative engineering practices • Participate in daily standups, sprint ceremonies, and retrospectives • Participate in security reviews of new development to support compliance with Sophos security requirements and industry best practices • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, escalating complex problems to senior team members when appropriate • Work closely with senior engineers to support product delivery and build technical skills in cloud-native engineering, security, and scalable system development • Build a product that democratizes access to enterprise-grade cybersecurity leadership for organizations of all sizes

🎯 Requirements

• Practical experience building backend services or APIs in a modern programming language; TypeScript preferred but not required • Good understanding of API design, request/response lifecycles, and common integration patterns • Experience writing clean, maintainable code with automated tests • Awareness of secure coding practices, authentication and authorization concepts, and cloud-native development • Ability to debug production issues methodically and collaborate with senior engineers on complex problems • Experience using test automation frameworks such as Mocha or Jest • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience • TypeScript backend development with Node.js/TypeScript is desirable • Familiarity with microservice architecture and distributed-system concepts is desirable • Understanding of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts is desirable • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or serverless components is desirable • Knowledge of messaging systems or event-driven patterns is a plus • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines is desirable • Legal authorization to work in the United Kingdom without employer sponsorship
