📋 Description

• Support all aspects of database improvement, refinement, and upgrade against company specifications • Analyse, design, develop, and unit test robust software solutions meeting business requirements • Contribute to architecting and implementing software solutions • Own assigned tasks, provide progress updates, and escalate issues appropriately • Follow standard team practices and use approved code management tools • Document solutions clearly so other team members can continue the work • Maintain and develop new functionality to agreed specifications • Develop new code, unit test, and perform code reviews • Ensure system security meets specified levels and new features follow best practices • Participate throughout the development lifecycle, including specification, documentation, and quality assurance • Analyse problems and provide practical, high-quality IT solutions • Share lessons learned and suggest process improvements • Support the project lifecycle, including testing and attending out-of-hours deployments when required • Report to the Head of Business Systems and keep the Business Systems Manager and relevant teams updated

🎯 Requirements

• Good knowledge/experience of Java • Good knowledge/experience of Spring Boot • Experience building REST Services • Knowledge/experience of microservices • Good knowledge/experience of SQL • Good knowledge/experience of Maven • Good knowledge/experience of GIT • GCSE English Language at a minimum of Grade B, or equivalent Level 2 qualification • Alternatively, achievement of Level 2 in Literacy Assessment at interview stage • Knowledge/experience of Azure, IntelliJ, and Mockito desirable • Experience working to publicly funded/Government contract requirements desirable • Demonstrable understanding of management information systems desirable • Experience providing high-quality advisory and guidance service to internal customers desirable • Proactive and creative problem solver • Strong attention to detail • Excellent communication and team-working • Strong analytical skills • Demonstrable project management experience • Ability to work where multiple projects operate in tandem • Exceptional timekeeping and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines • High business and commercial awareness desirable • Demonstrable data security management experience desirable • Ability to absorb complex information quickly and present it understandably to all business levels desirable
