📋 Description

• Work as part of a highly skilled development team delivering software solutions across multiple projects • Contribute to a range of projects including big-data analytics applications, financial platforms, and backend systems • Participate in greenfield development and full project lifecycle activities • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and backend services using Python • Develop scalable ETL/ELT processes and distributed data workflows for large datasets • Build APIs and microservices to support data integration and analytics use cases • Implement Azure-based solutions using Data Factory, Databricks, Functions, Storage, and related components • Optimise data processes for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency • Produce clean, testable, maintainable code following engineering best practices • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and refinement • Contribute to all stages of the SDLC: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance

🎯 Requirements

• Strong hands-on Python development experience • Experience with at least one Python framework: FastAPI, Django, Flask, Pydantic, PySpark, Airflow, or Prefect • Knowledge of best-practice Python tooling (Pipenv, Poetry, PyTest, Flake8, PyCharm) • Solid understanding of OO principles and SOLID design techniques • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking • Strong experience writing clean, testable code (unit, integration, and data validation tests) • Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, identity, monitoring, and security • Experience with Azure data components: Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Functions, Event Hub, Synapse • Knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns, distributed data processing, and data modelling • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets • Familiarity with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Redis, CosmosDB, Elasticsearch) • Understanding of full data flow from ingestion through transformation to consumption • Strong experience with Git and modern version-control workflows • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Bitbucket Pipelines) • Experience with containerisation (Docker); Kubernetes knowledge is a bonus • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and receive feedback constructively • Strong time-management skills and ability to work across multiple projects • A critical thinking mindset and a drive to contribute to the organisation’s success • Ability to work effectively within Agile Scrum or Kanban teams • High attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality • Nice to have Experience working in financial services or regulated data environments • Exposure to real-time streaming systems (Kafka, Event Hub, Pulsar) • Experience with AWS or multi-cloud architectures • Front-end or full-stack experience (Angular, React) is beneficial but not essential • Knowledge of high-performance / low-latency databases is an advantage (ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, QuestDB, ScyllaDB)
