âą Respond to plan inquiries and requests from clients promptly and professionally âą Calculate and process timely payment of termination, retirement, and death benefits for medium-sized plans and review such for simple plans âą Foster strong relationships between clients and the consulting team âą Coordinate information flow between clients and trustees effectively âą Reconcile plan assets and plan memberships with precision âą Train new analysts on systems and procedures to ensure consistency âą Prepare year-end annual pension statements accurately âą Prepare membership and asset data for actuarial valuations conscientiously âą Apply and interpret pension benefit calculations in accordance with plan provisions and legislative requirements âą Work with pension databases to ensure data accuracy âą Attend internal training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and topics âą Participate in client meetings and presentations to add value âą Assist with special projects as required to support team goals
âą 3 to 5 years of Defined Benefit pension administration experience (including complex retirement, termination, death, and marriage breakdown calculations) âą Post-secondary education (preferably in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science) or relevant courses related to Pension Administration âą Advanced knowledge of Defined Benefit pension plans and provincial pension and tax legislation âą Experience reviewing pension calculations and member transactions âą The ability to lead projects, taking ownership and accountability for assigned tasks âą Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with ease âą Excellent analytical and mathematical skills âą A strong client service focus with exceptional professional acumen
