📋 Description

• Design and ship core components of the Pricing API from initial design through production • Consolidate pricing logic into one service while keeping pricing behavior stable • Build detection and alerting to catch bad or slow prices before customers are affected • Provide the commercial team with self-serve explanations for unpriceable contracts • Make customer quoting measurably faster • Build backend components that price real energy contracts for businesses and renewable generators • Implement error handling, observability and alerting for reliable, explainable pricing • Extract and consolidate pricing logic so the pricing engine owns its behavior end to end • Handle live pricing questions and incidents and turn learnings into structural fixes

🎯 Requirements

• Production backend Python experience; shipped and run an API in production and been responsible when it broke • Comfortable with FastAPI and SQL • Experience with data- and analytics-heavy systems where numerical correctness matters • Product engineering judgment • Claude or similar AI coding assistant is part of daily workflow for writing, testing and reviewing code • Ability to own a project end to end, including scoping, delivery and quality • Desirable: fintech, energy pricing, neo-utilities or ad-tech domain knowledge • Desirable: experience working inside or alongside machine learning teams • Desirable: AWS and serverless patterns, including Lambda, event-driven services and Postgres on RDS • Desirable: Polars or experience optimizing numerical code
