📋 Description

• Define the technical direction, strategy, and roadmap for pricing machine learning within Rosso • Design and implement models that dynamically set prices • Balance signing probability, portfolio balance, and margin maximisation • Develop probabilistic models for risk management and short-term imbalance decisions • Own the modelling and data layer • Collaborate with software engineers and MLOps to productionise models • Contribute to system design decisions affecting performance and reliability • Explain model behaviour, assumptions, and trade-offs to technical stakeholders • Lead pricing ML as a core part of tem’s transaction infrastructure • Help transform the reactive pricing system into a proactive engine targeting the right customers at the right time

🎯 Requirements

• Deep experience building ML systems for pricing, revenue optimisation, or decision-making under uncertainty • Track record of models progressing from concept to production and delivering measurable commercial impact • Strong foundation in stochastic optimisation and probabilistic modelling • Ability to formulate ambiguous business problems using appropriate mathematical approaches • First-principles reasoning across stochastic programming, classical ML, reinforcement learning, and heuristics • Production-grade Python • High standards for code quality and system design • Ability to work alongside software engineers across the full ML lifecycle • Senior technical leadership in ML, including setting direction for a significant technical area • Experience influencing cross-functional teams • Ability to communicate complex model decisions to commercial, product, and engineering stakeholders • Experience with reinforcement learning or causal inference in applied commercial settings is a bonus • Familiarity with energy markets, power trading, or portfolio management is a bonus • PhD or equivalent research depth in a quantitative discipline is a bonus • Ability to reason about trade-offs between optimisation solvers such as Gurobi and gradient-based ML methods such as PyTorch is a bonus • Experience with high data throughput systems in production is a bonus • Fluent English speaking, reading, and writing required
