📋 Description

• Own the design evolution of the Wirecutter Store • Lead design for the shopping experience while balancing high-conversion UX design with rigorous visual standards • Oversee the visual and structural integrity of the store • Design intuitive interfaces for the homepage, product detail pages, and checkout flows • Translate complex business requirements into elegant, high-fidelity designs • Wireframe, prototype, and refine interfaces across desktop and mobile • Analyze the shopping funnel to identify friction points • Design solutions to improve navigation, product discovery, and checkout • Serve as subject matter expert on e-commerce design trends • Audit the site experience to identify growth opportunities and propose site architecture improvements • Partner with the business team on the A/B testing roadmap • Design and implement UI experiments and use data to iterate • Build, configure, and manage pages using Shopify • Advocate for design standards in meetings with technical partners during implementation

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant design experience • Portfolio showcasing ability and process to design for e-commerce • Understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual hierarchy • Experience designing for Shopify • Ability to navigate the Shopify theme editor • Experience managing product assets • Experience collaborating with developers to bring custom layouts to life • Experience designing templates for e-commerce email platforms such as Klaviyo or Shopify Email • Understanding of how email layout, typography, and clear CTAs impact click-through and open rates • Experience using analytics to understand site performance • Experience using design to solve for conversion and usability (preferred) • Experience presenting the rationale behind design choices and working with developers, PMs, and stakeholders (preferred)
