📋 Description

• We are seeking a motivated Senior App Engineer to join our Member Experience squad within our Member Lifetime Value org, which plays a critical role in delivering a 5 star sit experience to pet owners & sitters, driving our mission to scale TrustedHousesitters from 250K to 1 million members. • This mobile development role leans heavily into user experience, with a strong emphasis on building fast, accessible, and engaging products. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in technologies like React Native, Expo, and modern mobile best practices. Full-stack experience (with React for web, Django, and Django Rest Framework) would be a bonus. In this collaborative, experimentation-driven environment, iteration, autonomy, and impact are key. • We seek an engineer passionate about our users and committed to our vision of becoming the world's most-loved travel solution for pet people. You will have meaningful ownership over features that directly shape how pet owners and sitters connect for a great sit experience.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience (4+ years) in mobile app development, including production-grade React Native, Expo, and JavaScript/TypeScript. • A mindset geared toward experimentation, measurement, and continuous improvement, especially within growth-driven product teams. • Strong understanding of scalable architectures, accessibility, performance optimisation, and secure coding practices. • Experience supporting & working with API developers and integrating with third-party platforms. • Hands-on experience with JavaScript build tooling such as Webpack, Vite, and Expo. • Solid foundation in component styling, HTML, CSS, and accessibility best practices. • Comfortable carrying out technical discovery, architecture planning of features, and owning the implementation of complex product features. • Excellent communication skills and confidence in collaborating cross-functionally with Product Managers, Designers, and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience mentoring engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing. • Familiarity using CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies (e.g., GitHub Actions, Sentry).
