📋 Description

• Designing and implementing software solutions that meet business requirements across TryHackMe considering scalability, reliability, and security • Collaborating with product managers, designers, tech leads and developers on project plans and technical execution • Mentoring and coaching developers, providing technical guidance and feedback • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and other engineering meetings, providing feedback to ensure code quality and alignment with TryHackMe technical standards. • Writing high-quality, maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., JavaScript, Typescript, NodeJS, React) • Developing and maintaining databases and data models, as well as creating and optimising queries • Monitoring and analysing system performance to identify and resolve bottlenecks and issues • Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development and sharing knowledge with the team • Participating in Agile development methodologies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives • Contributing to the continuous improvement of software development processes and practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience across both frontend and backend development. • Advanced experience with TypeScript, React and Node.js , with the ability to work confidently across a modern web application. • A strong ability to model complex systems and business domains, turning ambiguous problems into clear, maintainable software. • Excellent coding fundamentals and the ability to make thoughtful decisions about structure, abstractions, interfaces and trade-offs. • Confident using AI development tools such as Cursor, Codex and Claude to explore problems, write and improve code, and accelerate delivery. • Strong judgement when working with AI-generated output, including the ability to validate, challenge and refine it rather than accepting it uncritically. • Experience building, releasing and maintaining production software, including debugging issues and improving existing codebases. • A practical understanding of software design, testing, security, reliability and performance. • Comfortable working closely with product managers, designers and engineers to shape solutions rather than simply implementing predefined specifications. • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and collaborate effectively in English. • A willingness to contribute beyond your immediate work by sharing knowledge, improving engineering practices and supporting a strong engineering culture. • An interest in cyber security, education or TryHackMe’s mission would be valuable.
