📋 Description

• Lead Veeam’s EMEA Commercial Legal team and manage four to five lawyers • Remain a key individual contributor in complex software transactions • Partner with the US counterpart to drive consistency across contracting positions, templates, playbooks, and processes • Negotiate and close complex, high-value software, SaaS, BaaS, professional services, and channel agreements • Partner directly with Sales, Deal Desk, and other key stakeholders • Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice balancing legal, regulatory, privacy, and commercial considerations • Lead, coach, and develop the EMEA Commercial Legal team • Build partnerships with Sales and sales leadership and align legal resources with pipeline and business priorities • Develop and deliver training and practical contracting guidance • Serve as escalation point for complex, high-risk, or novel commercial matters • Keep Commercial Legal leadership informed of significant matters, emerging trends, and resourcing needs • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across the global Commercial Legal team

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales, holding a current practising certificate • 12+ years of post-qualification experience gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house • Significant in-house experience within a software or technology company • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of managing, coaching, and developing lawyers • Extensive hands-on experience negotiating and closing complex software and SaaS agreements in a fast-paced sales environment • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with Sales and other business stakeholders in the technology sector • Experience advising on privacy and data protection matters arising in commercial technology transactions • Strong commercial judgment and confidence making pragmatic, risk-based decisions • Flexible, creative, and solutions-oriented approach • Ability to balance Sales needs with appropriate legal and business risk • Excellent communication and influencing skills • Ability to simplify complex legal issues and provide clear, practical guidance
