📋 Description

• Guide and develop a high-performing engineering team • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5–8 engineers through regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and development plans • Drive recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding • Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture • Own delivery outcomes, velocity, operational excellence, system reliability, performance, and scalability • Set technical standards and guide architectural decisions • Ensure code quality through reviews and technical debt management • Lead production incident response and post-mortem processes • Partner with Product, Design, Security, and other stakeholders on roadmaps and dependencies • Manage team capacity, identify and mitigate risks, and communicate progress and blockers • Contribute to departmental technical strategy and drive team innovation • Report to the Development Director

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field • 8+ years of software engineering experience, including delivery of complex systems • 2+ years of direct people management experience, including performance and career development • Demonstrable experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and driving continuous improvement • Experience with project budgeting, resource planning, and reporting • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Experience developing in Java, PHP and/or Python • Ability to advise on technical strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and mentor engineers • Strong technical background in software engineering principles and modern methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with high emotional intelligence • Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, continuous learning, and improvement • Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or MBA • Certifications in Agile/Scrum, Leadership, or Cloud Architecture • Experience in governance, compliance, or risk management • Track record of mentoring engineers and fostering inclusive team culture • Exposure to scaling teams, distributed systems, and enterprise-level architecture
