• Direct ongoing support, resources and guidance to assigned regional local and district teams and community Resident Engagement associates through meetings, conference calls, site visits and individualized coaching • Support corporate initiatives involving resident program standards, budgets, policies, resources, guidelines and training manuals • Implement, communicate and promote a person-centered engagement approach based on residents’ interests in Brookdale-owned and managed communities • Support and manage the Brookdale engagement mentor program and provide professional development to assigned mentors • Partner with District team members and community leadership teams to determine and reach business goals • Maintain resident engagement philosophies, standards and objectives within the assigned region • Provide financial oversight of the Resident Engagement budget in relation to community performance • Communicate with regional, district and community leadership regarding standards compliance, recommendations and development plans • Provide Resident Engagement support, consultation and follow-up to community Executive Directors, including site visits and interviewing final candidates for resident program positions • Document and submit site visits with action plans and next steps • Welcome and support new Resident Engagement associates and connect them with mentors for onboarding and ongoing education • Implement innovative company initiatives, pilots, programs and events across the assigned region • Plan and facilitate monthly regional EngagementPlus planning calls for staff training, support needs, programming ideas, standards, policies, procedures and new initiatives • Coach and mentor community Resident Engagement associates across groups, resident-led clubs, individual pursuits and external partners • Support, train and monitor community Facebook editors for quality and compliance • Facilitate mentor-program professional development, training, meetings, company initiatives and planning calls • Oversee interviews and site visits for new mentor applicants • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and minimum of five years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required • Strongly preferred: experience in a senior living environment with direct experience in resident programming, including programming for residents in multiple levels of care • Strongly preferred: operational leadership including multi-site experience • Ability to travel overnight up to 75% of the time • May be required to work extra hours and/or be on call during off hours • Extensive knowledge, interest and demonstrated ability in program planning for older adults • Commitment to maintaining and enhancing the dignity, quality of life and optimum functioning of older adults • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills • Computer knowledge • Good judgment and enthusiasm • Excellent organizational and planning skills • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and manage simultaneous priorities • Efficiency in successfully completing work assignments • Knowledge and support of the Community's philosophy and objectives • Flexibility and openness to change • Knowledge of current regulatory standards • Ability to perform listed physical demands, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, talking, hearing, and vision • Brookdale is a drug-free workplace
